Signature Cocktails from UT Austin's Sigma Phi Epsilon Graduation Party
As promised, we've listed below the detailed recipes for the signature cocktails we created for the graduation party we produced for UT Austin's Sigma Phi Epsilon Chapter.
The Longhorn
Don’t Mess With Our Ranch Water. Here’s our take on a beloved Austin, Texas classic. To pack an extra punch, we took some creative liberties by adding tajin on the rim + an orange slice to keep things fresh.
You’ll need:
2 oz of tequila of your choice. Our personal pick is LALO or Pantalones Tequila.
1 oz of fresh lime juice
Topo Chico to taste — sorry, this one’s a non-negotiable.
Tajin for the rim
Orange for garnish
Wet the rim of your glass and drag it through your tajin. Fill a glass with ice. Add the tequila, lime juice and orange for garnish. Top off with Topo Chico to taste. Stir up with one of our Super//Custom swizzle sticks, or shake — dealer’s choice.
Hook ‘Em
Basically a cucumber gimlet with burnt orange clothes on. It’s giving refreshing.
You’ll need:
3 oz of vodka of your choice (we’re loyal to Tito’s Vodka)
1/2 oz of fresh lime juice
4 slices of cucumber
1 teaspoon of sugar
Muddle the cucumber with sugar in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Add in the rest of the ingredients and 1/2 cup of ice. Shake for 10 seconds, serve into a coupe or a stemless gimlet glass. Sit back, relax, and enjoy. Cucumber slices for your eyes optional.
Burnt Orange
Last but definitely not least, this old fashioned was a crowd favorite.
You’ll need:
1.5 oz of bourbon
2 dashes of angostura bitters
2 tsp of simple syrup
Orange twist for aromatics + garnish
1 maraschino cherry
Pour simple syrup and bitters into a chilled rocks glass, stir to combine. Add ice and pour your bourbon over. Garnish with an orange slice + drop in your maraschino cherry. Yes, it’s that easy.
Cheers & Hook ‘Em!
